Jim Morrison, the AMAZING, deceased vocalist from The Doors. Got him all finished up and stuff, just in time for Mother's Day. I started a few months ago, but I had to play with little details before I could frame it. And I chose him because he's one of her favorites. He used to be her very favorite singer, but seeing as he's been dead for nearly 30 years, I guess she needed a fresher body? Lane Slaley of Alice in Chains only died last decade! lol (I'm weird, sorry.) But out of the two, I much prefer Jim. :D

I'm not sure what I think about this, though. I did all kinds of mathematical stuff before I started ANYTHING, so the proportions should be pretty on, though the eyes seem odd to me. I did mess with them all that I'm willing to, though. They are much better than before.

I chose this for anyone interested 'cause it's a song I think is easily liked and I believe it's a live recording. I love when live performances equal or out do studio recordings. :love: It's also got lots of clips and I think it's pretty well done. ^^
Oh, and "Back Door Man"'s another of their songs. "You may eat your chicken, eat your pork and beans. I eat more chicken any man ever seen." Love those lyrics. XDDD

what a nice gift for mother's day! tell me how she liked it, even though i already know that the answer is "very much" :D
great job on the shading and the hair. the hair has gots to be my favourite part. makes you just wanna run your fingers through it - LOL! anyways, awesome texture there, pard'ner ;P
And despite the fact that you're not entirely happy with the eyes, i think they turned out very well. It's just pencil on paper, but you still feel you can get lost in them, y'know?

And thanks so much!! Such nice compliments :') I tired sooo hard not to just crap out on the hair, I'm glad you like it. And you like the eyes, too? Wow! *Explodes herself*

Oh, and I noticed there was a black line on the left from the scanning. I cropped it a bit to get rid of that. XD (I use "XD" so much. lol)

I don't think the eyes look weird. *squints at it* Nope. Looks fine to me. And I love the hair! Like ~LarukuLover said, it just makes ya wanna run your fingers through it! :XD:

Very cool. The Doors are one of my favorite bands. I think the outline and the hair are very well done (screw them scanners). I wonder though, did you use a fading technique with the pencil or charcoal that you used? It looks really good with it, much depth and what not.

The only thing I would change on this is, that the face looks a little flat. But Jim Morrison always had that flat kind of face.

EARTH IS OVER!!! I got an A in the class ^_^. How bout u?

I just saw "EARTH IS OVER" and, not thinking of the class at all, was really confused. lol

Yarse, The Doors are pretty sweet! As for the technique-ness, I really don't know what I used. ^^; I used a plain #2 pencil (gave up on fancy stuff long ago.) and did lots of lines and stuff, then drew REALLY lightly over shading-needing facial areas and squished it around with my finger.
I'm glad you liked it!! It took a lot of effort. And I know I have a hard time making things 3-dimensional, but I'm trying! (Haha, sounds like I have to make excuses or something. XD)

I gots an A, too! But, were you really concerned? We totally blew our classmates away with our brainy-type powers. XDDD
